Why do tempests exist?

WHY DO TEMPESTS EXIST?

“They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes” (Mark 5:1 NIV).

Why do tempests rise in our life? Tempests arise in our life when we are moving forward. Whenever we cross the line of our commodity to fulfill our purpose there will always be opposition. The devil knows that if you cross to the other side, you are going to cause ravages, win souls, and make disciples, therefore, he causes storms to try to stop you from moving forward.

The Bible says that there was a demon possessed man on the other side, “When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him” (Mark 5:2 NIV).

Jesus and his disciples were on their way to deliver and transform the life of somebody who had the potential to evangelize thousands of people around the region. The story of this demon possessed man who was a citizen in the region of the Gerasenes is similar to the story of those who live in our city.

It doesn’t matter what kind of tempests arise with the intention to delay our journey, if Jesus said let’s cross to the other side, then we are going to cross to the other side, there is no other option. When God told us to build a temple in Las Vegas, the financial crisis we were experiencing at a national level didn’t matter, for we knew that God had asked us to build it.

When Jesus said that thousands of souls would be saved in this church, we believed it despite the criticism and misunderstandings, because we knew that God had told us this. Thus, our mission today is: to win souls and make disciples forming every person into a successful leader in their spiritual, family, social and financial life.

God has called us to cross to the other side to restore and free the people in our city who need the Heavenly Father’s love. The Bible shows us that after this demon possessed man was delivered by Jesus Christ, he was “… sitting there, dressed and in his right mind…” (Mark 5:15 NIV).

This man was so grateful with Jesus that he wanted to follow him just like the other disciples, but Jesus told him, no. Instead, go back to your family and relatives and tell them about the mercy I have shown you, and that is what he did.

Do not be afraid of the tempests that arise against you. Realize that this will happen as long as you are moving forward. Keep crossing the line of your commodity, keep crossing to the other side of the lake and remember that God is on your side. If He said, “Let’s cross to the other side”, cross!

“They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes” (Mark 5:1 NIV).

Think about it:

What tempest is rising against you?
Where do you want to get to?
