Accept everyone even if they are different from you

ACCEPT EVERYONE EVEN IF THEY ARE DIFFERENT FROM YOU

“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God” (Romans 15:7 NIV).

Many times, human beings complain because of the differences we have with other people: women are different from men; temperaments are different, our way of doing things, our reactions, and cultures are different etc.

In order to get along with others, the first thing we must accept is that differences are not a problem, but an opportunity God created so that we would complement and strengthen one another.

The husband’s differences must enrich the wife and vice versa; relationships with our partners, friends, family or brothers in Christ, should not threaten our way of being, instead they should be an opportunity to become a team, to achieve great things and to complement each other in those things we do not have.

God wants us to be happy in our relationships with others; a good relationship with our spouse, produces happy and confident children. A good relationship between parents and children make strong healthy families. Good relationships at our job and in the church help us form communities that are far from injustice.

If there is someone different from you, use their differences to your advantage. Do not make them a problem for your life, instead make them a strength. Let’s learn to get along with all people, while accepting their differences and let’s be happy every day.

Think about it:

Is there someone who is different from you in your environment? How do you see their differences, as a threat or an opportunity?
What can you do today to accept the differences in your spouse, colleagues, parents, children and friends?
